HSE Recognized for Best Practice in Monitoring Quality of Education
The HSE Student Council Committee on Education Quality has won the title ‘Best project aimed at monitoring the quality of educational services’. The national competition assesses student activities which aim to improve the quality of education and is organized by the Russian Union of Youth, together with Rosobrnadzor (government agency supervising educational institutions) and the Russian Association of Students and Student Organisations.
The competition, which included four nominations (‘Best project aimed at monitoring the quality of educational services’, ‘Best project aimed at improving student performance’, ‘Best contribution by student committee on the quality of education’, ‘Best idea for improving the quality of education’), was held in two rounds. Between seven and nine finalists were selected in each section based on their applications. These finalists then presented their projects in person to the jury on April 26.
Each presentation lasted for 3 minutes, after which the presenters of each project answered questions in front of the expert jury.
Dmitry Efimov, Head of the Committee on the Quality of Education at HSE, spoke about the main activities carried out by the committee which aim to monitor the quality of the educational process at the university ((monitoring of educational programmes, documentation of the government certifications, the class scheduling system; monitoring the publication of important information on the HSE website; introducing innovative elements to the curricula – online courses, minors, project work, high degree flexibility of curricula, etc.). He also spoke about the history of the Committee and how its work relates to HSE’s status as the country’s most dynamically developing university.
