On May 8, 2025, in Moscow, in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, strategic agreements were signed between the HSE University and two of China's top institutions, Peking University and Tsinghua University. The event was attended by Nikita Anisimov, Rector of HSE University, Qiu Yong, Secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University Committee, and Gong Qihuang, President of Peking University. The signing unfolded during the official visit of the Chinese delegation to Russia, coinciding with the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Victory Day.

The BRICS Youth Innovation Summit 2025 was held in Cape Town on April 10–11, 2025. The event was attended by political and business leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. Neural network models developed at the HSE AI Research Centre have significantly improved the prediction of risks for obesity, type 1 diabetes, psoriasis, and other complex diseases. A joint study with Genotek Ltd showed that deep learning algorithms outperform traditional methods, particularly in cases involving complex gene interactions (epistasis). The findings have been published in Frontiers in Medicine.

More than 10,000 scientific projects were supported by the Russian Science Foundation (RSF) in 2024. One of the grant recipients is Iranian scholar Dr Ahmad Ostovari Moghaddam, Assistant Professor at HSE MIEM. With the support of the RSF and HSE, he made the decision to remain in Russia long term.
