Centre for Health Economics, Management and Policy Marks Two Years
Centre for Health Economics, Management and Policy - or CHEMP, as it is known - was launched two years ago. Today CHEMP offers a unique opportunity to unite and internationalize the emerging body of education and research in the field of health studies. HSE and Seoul National University Sign Cooperation Agreement
On July 17, 2017, HSE signed a memorandum of understanding on academic and research cooperation with Seoul National University (SNU). It covers joint research, joint projects, student and staff visits, as well as the sharing of academic resources.
Designing Interaction with Mobile Devices: New HSE Course Now Available on Coursera
A new English-taught course offered by the HSE Faculty of Computer Science kicks off on Coursera on July 17, 2017: Mobile Interaction Design: How to Design Usable Mobile Products and Services. Its author is Pavel Manakhov, Associate Professor at the HSE School of Software Engineering and Lead Interaction Designer at UsabilityLab.
HSE Hosts Fifth International Summer School on Higher Education Research
In mid-June 2017, the town of Pushkin near St. Petersburg, Russia welcomed the Fifth International Summer School on Higher Education Research, a joint initiative between the HSE Institute of Education and Peking University’s China Institute for Educational Finance Research. This year, the Summer School focused on higher education and social inequality.
'HSE ICEF Has a Diverse Team of Enthusiastic People'
As described by one of the original ICEF team members, Oleg Zamkov, ICEF Deputy Director and Academic Head of HSE and University of London Double Degree Programme in Economics, the success of ICEF was in choosing the right moment for the start and finding the right people, both academics and administrators. Decision-making Rules Least Susceptible to Manipulation, According to Science
HSE researchers have used computer modelling to demonstrate the varying manipulability of decision-making procedures and to identify those least susceptible to manipulation. Their findings are published in the paper 'Manipulability of Majority Relation-based Collective Decision Rules'.
HSE Joins Top 50 in QS Rankings of Young Universities
The Higher School of Economics (HSE) has taken 48th place in the QS Top 50 Under 50 ranking. Furthermore, it is the sole Russian academic institution in this ranking.
HSE School of Psychology Moves to Centre of Moscow
The School of Psychology has moved to Armyansky Pereulok, which was a long-awaited event for HSE psychology students. The school was previously located at one of the university’s more remote campuses on Volgogradsky Prospekt. The HSE Centre for Cognition & Decision Making also made an important move recently, this time into the university’s building on Krivokolenny Pereulok. HSE Saint Petersburg Buddy Club Enters ESN
The HSE St Petersburg Buddy Club has officially become a section of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN). The buddy club is a student organization and its main aim is helping international students adapt to their new lifestyle in Saint Petersburg and to their studies at the Higher School of Economics. Club members meet international students when they arrive, take them to the students' new home, explain how to use the underground, help buy a sim card, open a bank account and assist with other important tasks which students may find difficult to handle not knowing the Russian language. Additionally, the club also organizes educational and entertaining activities, trips to theatres, cultural events, Russian film evenings, etc.
