HSE University Signs Exchange and Cooperation Agreements at International Partners’ Week

From September 25–29, HSE University hosted International Partners’ Week, which was attended by representatives from 23 countries. As part of the event, a series of cooperation and exchange agreements was signed with universities and organisations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Ghana, China, and Japan.

International Partners’ Week allows representatives from universities, ministries, and research organisations interested in collaborating with HSE to not only communicate on a shared platform and discuss best practices in the field of humanitarian cooperation, but also to plan further joint projects.

On September 26, agreements were signed between HSE University and Astana International University (Kazakhstan), the Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn (Kyrgyzstan), Belarusian State Technological University (Belarus), Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno (Belarus), Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (Kazakhstan), the University of Cape Coast (Ghana), and the University of Ghana.

On September 27, an agreement was concluded with Tokai University, one of the largest private universities in Japan. Founded in 1942, it now has 28,535 students, 990 of whom are international.

On the same day, HSE Rector Nikita Anisimov signed cooperation agreements with Guangdong CIS Alliance for International Science and Technology Cooperation (China) and the Banking and Finance Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The agreements will foster academic, cultural, and other types of cooperation between universities, as well as help launch exchange programmes.

Elvira Tattibayeva, Strategic Department Director, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University (Kazakhstan)

We have been cooperating with HSE University for a few years already. We have sent our students to HSE, and recently, our teacher started learning at HSE as part of our national ‘500 Scholars’ programme. We are willing to continue cooperation in this field.

I am grateful to HSE University for International Partners’ Week. You managed to bring together university representatives from all over the world and organise everything at the highest level during such trying times. I believe this will be beneficial both to HSE and to its existing and future partner universities.

Rasul Salaev, Department Head at Banking and Finance Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan

We have known about HSE University for a long time and are happy to meet in Moscow to sign an agreement for the benefit of our students. I hope that we will see many joint projects.

James Atta Peprah, Dean of the School of Economics, University of Cape Coast, Ghana

I believe this is only the first step in our comprehensive cooperation. We think that developing our relationship with one of the leading universities—HSE University—is interesting and promising.

Vice Rector Victoria Panova said that the agreements open up opportunities for joint research, academic and cultural projects and events. ‘I hope this is just the first step towards our fruitful and promising collaboration. I am confident that interesting projects await us,’ she added.

The ceremonies took place in a friendly atmosphere and were accompanied by an exchange of gifts. The vice rector also received an invitation from the rectors and deans of the new partner universities to visit their home countries.
