Admissions news at HSE University

The HSE University and Kyung Hee University double degree programme ‘Economics and Politics in Asia’ is currently enrolling students. Its academic supervisor, Denis Shcherbakov, spoke about the advantages of the programme, internships at Asian universities and companies, as well as the new focus on Southeast Asia.

The master’s programme 'Financial Technologies and Data Analysis' combines information technology, mathematics, and economics. The programme puts particular emphasis on hands-on experience: as early as the first year, half of the programme’s first-year master's students receive full-time employment in data science departments of financial companies.

Coming from Lebanon but with personal ties to Russia, Hisham Haydar will be starting the second year of the Master’s in Economics: Research Programme this September. The strength of HSE University’s standing in international rankings led Hisham to choose HSE in Moscow for his advanced training in economics. The HSE master's programme 'Experience Economy: Hospitality Management and Tourism' offers knowledge which is required in business, but not yet widely available in textbooks. Maria Fay earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Informatics from HSE University (2013). Today, she works at SAP and is in charge of innovation projects in Central and Eastern Europe. She recently earned her PhD from the University of Liechtenstein. Maria has talked with the HSE News Service about combining education, work, and research.

Nowadays, students have the opportunity to enrol in a double-degree programme and earn two Master’s degrees from different institutions in different countries over a shorter period of time. While receiving two diplomas at once is definitely one advantage of a double-degree programme, HSE University has compiled some of the others.

Students who have been accepted to the HSE bachelor’s programmes in ‘Law’ and ‘Private Law’ may simultaneously enroll in the second degree programme at the University of London to supplement their basic training. The second degree programme is also open to external students and working professionals.
