Jaguar Land Rover Sets up Scholarship for HSE Students

The Jaguar Game Changer scholarship is open for applications in April. The best and most active students in the university can win support from Jaguar Land Rover.

‘HSE has many, various scholarship programmes’, said HSE President Alexander Shokhin announcing the new scholarship, ‘but in the current crisis this partnership is particularly valuable to us. I hope that any undergraduate or master’s students who get on the Jaguar Land Rover - HSE programme benefit intellectually in the sense of improving their qualifications and will learn how better to meet the requirements of the labour market by talking to potential employers. It is important for us that the support isn’t just financial but also provides a chance to see how one of the world’s major companies operates from the inside’.

‘A Game Changer is someone who can think outside the box, unconventionally. That is the quality we want to encourage and cultivate among students at one of the best universities in the country,’ said Frank Vittemann, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover Russia. ‘We want our joint project to help young people to be inspired in the various ways HSE and Jaguar are cooperating. We want our support to play a major part in developing talented and original thinkers in the younger generation.’

25 scholarships of 10,000 roubles per month will be awarded twice a year following spring and autumn competitions. All full-time, fee paying students and fee-paying and non-fee paying foreign students from CIS countries can apply, regardless of which HSE campus they are at.

The jury, made up of five HSE representatives will be judging applicants on academic achievements, engagement in university social activities, professionally oriented activities and organising All-Russian olympiads, major university events (conferences, bridging programmes for first years) etc.

In the long-term there are plans to jointly organise case championships - competitions to solve real practical issues. The most successful candidate will be offered an internship at Jaguar Land Rover Russia. There are also plans to hold lectures and roundtables with top managers of Russian companies and businessmen.
